Indexed Page

An indexed page is a specific page that was discovered and scanned by a crawler and has been added to the search engine index. After the page is indexed, it can appear in SERP for the relevant queries.

The pages can be indexed in two different ways:

  • the site owner has requested the search engine to index the pages by adding its URL (is traditionally done via Google Search Console – URL Inspection Tool for Google)
  • the web crawler has discovered the site’s page via links to those pages on the other sites

The page indexing matters not only because it helps your site to appear in search engine result, but also shows the real value of your site via deep algorithm analysis, covering the keywords, inbound links quality, social signals, and valid codes on all the pages. If your page is not in the search engine index, it can even not exist at all – no one will reach it even with the relevant query.

Frequent indexing can also benefit the page ranking, especially when the page is regularly updated, contains quality content, and doesn’t violate the SEO terms and conditions. For successful ranking improvement, the page should always contain the Title and Meta Description and all the images located there, as well as the content [text] itself.
